@william Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that. Last time I checked this wasn't the case. It's understandable that this is the case like @manton wrote.
Good thing though: you can still subscribe via mastodon and continue commenting on micro.blog hosted posts!
I might look out to add a public way to add comments though. Or you just send an email, love those most!

@patrickrhone I read them all. Thank YOU!

@V_ I guess that's a "How to say you are not a librarian without saying you're not a librarian"?
I'd say the same ;)

@vincent So it's safe to assume that when
is_linkblog
istrue
there's something more to fetch and it's not an external link, right? -

@manton ah, ok. Makes sense. Is there something similar for shortened posts?
-
∞
hmmm,
"is_linkpost": false
. What would make a post a linkpost? -

I would have expected something like "in-reply-to" in conversations. But there is only the reference to the "OP" and the timestamp. And mentions of course.
This explains why threading in conversations is like it is.

@chrishannah It is fun and a great idea. Reminds me a lot of DayOne and all it's metadata automatically saved with each entry.

@dominikhoecht Ha, genau so aehnlich habe ich gestern auch gedacht, dann bin ich ueber irgendwas mit nicht funktionierenden Umlauten gestolpert und hab nichts geschrieben. Kann ja auch nicht sein.

@esamecar oh, I can relate very much.
I had the same experience about two years ago.I started to divide and conquer: work on Linux, do private stuff on apple OS gear.
So much more fun, better work environment, less issues with macOS (which is the most annoying of them all)

@khurtwilliams it’s less a proper hike, but a guided tour through the wine yards, where we learned about how they do organic viticulture. And you do a wine tasting along the way.

Erstma Pause, dann ausmisten dort. Oder halt ganz sein lassen. Ohne mastodon verpass ich ja auch nichts.

@help I did some more testing. It works really well on Safari on MacOS and iOS. No problems at all.
I'm experiencing these issues in Arc on MacOS and Firefox on Linux though.

@help I hope this makes it visible: nx818.your-storageshare.de/s/Db3rdsy...

@help I can reproduce it in Firefox on my linux machine. I'm scrolling down, scroll a few pages down (clicking "show more"), find a link, click that, go back, land some place else.
I'll try to make a screencast :)

hey @help, is this something you are having an eye on?

@maique it is the best. I'm missing sync between devices, but that's really it. How it shows and "filters" makes easily up for it.

@robb ohmy, I can imagine. But a very interesting approach. Anything public?
It probably doesn't make sense a lot anymore since you can follow most micro.blog users from the fediverse anyways. But again I don't enjoy the friction when cross-posting and having mixed up replies.

@tracydurnell thanks for your feedback, really. I was reading the timeline for quite some time in my feed reader and when I stopped I instantly knew why I switched there in the first place.
And I can't make myself opening even more tabs to be honest ;)

@vincent now that you're collecting like metrics and stuff!

@manton defaulting to the discover feed when there are 0 followings would be nice?
